Furnished for long-term residency with a fully-appointed kitchen. When they ask if they can deliver groceries, order limes, seltzer, spinach & eggs. Viola. Cocktails and breakfast. You did bring the tequila, right?
2:30PM No tequila, no problema. Walk or commission a city bike to El Alma, across the bridge. Eat some delicious tacos in their treefort-like patio. On Friday afternoon, the place was full of University of Texas students knocking back Happy Hour margaritas. I’d repeat the whole experience now if I could.
4PM Pedal your buzzed self past Uncle Billy’s Brewery to Barton Springs for a dip. You’ve never seen a swimming pool this big! The water temp is bracing, about 68 degrees.
7PM We saw quite a few coffee/wine bars, in case you couldn’t catch a power nap. Irene’s looked inviting, with its beer garden vibe, close to the hotel. We were told by the friendly bartender at Hangar Lounge (rooftop) that outdoor dining was hard to come by in our part of town.
